WIOA Eligible Programs of Study

Georgia Training Center is an approved education and career training service provider for person(s) eligible to receive Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) benefits. As a Georgia Training Center student, you may be eligible for additional financial assistance through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), a federal program that assists students in select programs with school-related expenses. WIOA provides financial assistance for tuition, books and fees, and direct training costs such as, required materials, tools, equipment and uniforms needed to complete an approved training program. WIOA training funds are designed to serve unemployed and under-employed adults, dislocated adults, and youth who are in need of job skills training to enter or re-enter the workforce. WIOA is not an entitlement program. Services are based upon availability of program funding and eligibility and appropriateness of services. WIOA funding is provided for eligible residents of the Lower Chattahoochee Workforce Development Area 14 which includes Chattahoochee, Clay, Harris, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Stewart, and Talbot counties.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act provides exceptional career services and resource information to individuals who are in need of career planning, career development, and career placement. Program objectives are designed to meet the needs of employers to acquire well-trained job seekers and to provide assistance to eligible individuals who are underemployed, have barriers to employment, or have been laid off due to situations such as plant closures or downsizing.  WIOA provides assistance with tuition and fees, textbooks and required supplies, uniforms and tools to students enrolled in approved programs of study found on the WorkSource Georgia Eligible Training Program List (ETPL).  Additional support services are available based on individual eligibility that may include transportation and/or child care.
